Adil Hussain is known for his critically acclaimed performances in award winning films such as Ang Lee’s Oscar winning Life of Pi, Subhashish Bhutiani’s Hotel Salvation/Mukti Bhavan, Iram Haq’s What Will People Say, Danis Tanovic’s Tigers, Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist, Pan Nalin’s Angry Indian Goddesses, Partho Sen-Gupta’s Sunrise, Italo Spinelli’s Gangor, Prashant Nair’s Umrika, Leena Yadav’s Parched and Bauddhayan Mukherji’s The Violin Player. For his lead role in Hotel Salvation and Maj Rati Ketaki, he received a National Award in India in 2017. He also received the Kanon Prisen award in Norway for Best Supporting Actor for his work in What Will People Say in 2018. For Mukti Bhavan which has received over 25 International awards, he has been nominated for numerous Best actor awards and won at the Washington DC South Asian Film Festival, Rajasthan International Film Festival and Bangalore International Film Festival. Adil received Best actor award for his work in Lessons in Forgetting at the New Jersey Indian and International Film Festival. He is widely known for his roles in English Vinglish, Lootera, Main aur Charles, Dobaara, Aiyaary etc. and has also acted in numerous independent as well as commercial films in the Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Malayali, Tamil film industries as well as in many Indo-European art house films.

With his rich experience in the field of cinema & theatre, Adil is mentoring Pic on the overall content & strategy and will be actively involved in mentoring the eco system of young indie film makers associated with Pickurflick.

Abhishek quit his corporate life after 11 years to follow his passion with films & entertainment. Right from an early age, he has always been fascinated with films and always wanted a career in the entertainment industry, so he could watch films all the time however he ended up in sales & marketing in construction industry.

From neighborhood video rental stores to DVDs via mail, he explored all these businesses before the technological shift to streaming disrupted the whole home video market. The idea of Pickurflick originated when he noticed that content discovery & access to content outside the mainstream was not only difficult, but people were mostly unaware about the hidden gems of indie cinema. Abhishek is spearheading the overall product development, content strategy, marketing & operations of Pickurflick.

Abhishek also has a keen interest in content production and is a producer at La Artiste Productions which aims to produce path breaking content for a global audience.

Saibal is a National award-winning film critic and author of several publications on Indian cinema which include ‘Echoes and Eloquences’, a book on Gulzar, and ‘Bollywood Hollywood’ – The Politics of Crossover Films, co-edited with Vani Prakashan. He reviews films for NDTV Movies and and writes on world and Indian cinema for several other media platforms. He served on the editorial board of Encyclopaedia Britannica’s volume on Hindi cinema and has researched for and scripted several documentary films. As an editorial professional, he has been on the staff of publications like The Telegraph, The Times of India and Outlook newsweekly.

Saibal is heading PIFF as Festival Director and oversees the overall programming of the festival.

Utpal is a journalist-film critic-turned-filmmaker who has made several acclaimed documentary films before directing his first fiction feature, the National Award-winning “Ishu”. After a career of nearly two decades as a journalist, during which he won the Swarna Kamal for Best Film Critic at the 50th National Film Awards, he shifted to filmmaking and made documentaries like “Mayong: Myth/Reality”, ‘Soccer Queens of Rani”, “Songs of the Blue Hills” and “Memories of a Forgotten War”, which have been screened in numerous film festivals across the world. His Assamese feature film “Ishu” won the Rajat Kamal for Best Assamese Film at the 65th National Film Awards and a Special Jury Award at the Bengaluru International Film Festival 2018.

Utpal is the creative advisor for Pondicherry International Film Festival (PIFF 2018) besides being the jury member for the monthly edition of Pickurflick Indie Film Festival.

Sanjay brings in years of marketing & entrepreneurial expertise as a branding & communication strategist.

He is the Founder & CEO of Design Worldwide – a strategic design, branding & communication firm based out of Gurgaon and has over 25 years of cross industry experience.

An occasional columnist and opinion leader with business dailies like Mint and Business Standard, he is also a speaker at leading management institutes, design schools and startup summits.

He was the Co-Chairman of ASSOCHAM’s Expert Committee on Advertising, Brand & Design in the year 2007-08 and currently spends a considerable amount of time mentoring and advising startups and incubating new economy ideas.

Having been closely associated with Pickurflick since inception, Sanjay has been an advisor to the festival on overall brand building, alliances & partnerships.
